SeaTown strives to embody sustainability, not only as an investor but also as a company. We manage our operational environmental footprint, and aim to create social value by investing in our communities and our employees.
Taking responsibility for our environmental footprint
At SeaTown, we believe that environmentally conscious practices deliver the best long-term results for our firm, our employees and all other stakeholders. We offset our operational carbon footprint* through purchase of high-quality carbon credits. We have also implemented an internal carbon price for certain corporate decisions, to further embed a sustainability mindset across our organization.
*Footnote:
Please refer to our Sustainability Report for further details on our operational carbon footprint.
Strengthening and supporting our communities
SeaTown is committed to investing in our communities. We aim to create positive social impact by partnering with organizations and our employees to serve our communities. As we strive towards a sustainability-conscious society, it is vital to develop future sustainability leaders in Singapore.
To develop the next generation of Sustainability leaders, SeaTown and Singapore Management University (SMU) jointly established the SeaTown Sustainability Scholarship in 2022. Scholarship recipients will receive up to S$15,000 each to cover their tuition fee and/or other study-related expenses. The scholars have the opportunity to complete an internship at SeaTown and experience a sustainability-focused role in the asset management industry.
Representatives from SeaTown also visit academic institutions to give guest lectures about sustainability in asset management, providing students with firsthand industry insights.
Our people are our greatest asset
At SeaTown, we believe that our people are our greatest asset. Our three core values safeguard our culture. We prioritize employee training and development and encourage constant upskilling. We are committed to growing together as a collaborative and sustainable organization.
